This one is quite cool and although the headline says HTML5 it doesn’t mean any of that fancy moving coloured canvas around the screen thing. OK Go are already known for making ridiculously cool music videos like their treadmill routine (“Here it goes again”, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTAAsCNK7RA) or a brilliant Rube Goldberg machine (“This too shall pass”, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qybUFnY7Y8w). Now they’re using HTML5 to make the video completely different for yourself by including a personalized message.
To actually try this you must have Chrome. What you can do then is go to http://www.chromeexperiments.com/,launch the experiment and enter the message you want OK Go to dance for you. Now you can jump directly to the part where your message appears but you could take the few minutes as well and watch the whole video. It’s a bit unusual yet not uncreative and while watching it there is some extremely cool window-magic involved. At the end your very own message will be displayed and you can’t deny that we’re facing a pretty awesome time with this new technologies.
